Listening to the audio every morning and afternoon driving to and from school, I fell in love with Travis and Gabby as they fell in love with one another.  Gabby’s antics as she struggled with the magnetism drawing her to Travis and her conscience reminding her she truly loved Brian, her long time boyfriend, left me laughing and hanging on the edge.  Then heart gripping horror strikes.  I actually found myself NOT wanting to finish for fear of the ending. The story is called The Laughing Man by &lt;a href="http://salinger.org/index.php?title=Main_Page"&gt;JD Salinger&lt;/a&gt; . It is about a boy who looks up to his coach of his baseball team and every day the coach stops the bus right before they go to a game and he tells them a story about “The Laughing Man”. The laughing man by my guess is his alter ego or something like that and by the mood of the coach the life of the laughing man, either gets harder or more fantastic.  Warning, some words in the book are difficult to read.
